Linda was one of a kind. She had a unique love for everyone she called a friend. Putter of people in their places, she loved hard but held a lifetime grudge. She will be remembered for her sharp wit, flannel shirts and jean jackets, appreciation for bluntness, reluctance to smile, refusal to take pictures, and her sunglasses, year round. She always wanted to be out of sight, off to the side, and most likely, she wouldn’t even want this obituary printed.
Linda was preceded in death by her Parents, Richard and Phyllis Burke and her Brothers James and Kevin. She is lovingly survived by her son Thomas Burke and daughter-in-law Lisa of Reading; daughter Heather Burton of Lynn, three grandchildren Jaziah Sutson, Tristan Robinson and Trey Robinson of Lynn; Siblings, Cheryl Burke of Lynn, Kathy Burke of Salem, Christine and husband Michael Spalding of Rockport, Cynthia and husband John Perullo of Saugus, Eileen and her late husband Robert Gardner of Gloucester, Matthew Burke of Martha’s Vineyard, Mark Burke and wife Suzanne of Salem, Michael Burke and wife Ruthie of Lynn and John Burke of Lynn; her very best friend in the world, Coreen Gillette of Lynn; many, MANY nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; and all of the extended family who loved her as “Ma” or “Gram”.
Memorial Visitation will be in the Cuffe McGinn Funeral Home in Lynn on Saturday January 3, 2026 from 2pm-6pm.
