Linda Rosendahl

Linda is survived by her sister Erna Rosendahl (Thornton, dec.) Lallier of Shrewsbury, nephews Edward (Jennifer) Lallier of Honolulu, HI, and Matthew (Katrina) Lallier of Shrewsbury, grandnephew Thornton and grandnieces Perry, Madeline, Elizabeth and Emma.

Linda’s journey through life was one of dedication, compassion and profound impact. A proud graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1960, she pursued her passion for education, earning a B.S. in Education from Bridgewater State College, a Master’s Degree in English from Tufts University and a certificate in Library Science from Salem State College.

Linda’s professional life was spent nurturing young minds at Lynn English High School, where she taught English from 1964 to 1987 before transitioning to serve as the school librarian until her retirement in 1997. Through her innovative teaching techniques, like “Ten-Minute Topics,” Linda cultivated creativity and self-expression in her students, many of whom fondly remember her thoughtful comments and the gentle encouragement she offered. Her contributions extended beyond the classroom.

Linda spearheaded significant initiatives, including securing a $900,000 DeWitt-Wallace/Readers Digest Library Power grant, that revitalized libraries in Lynn’s elementary schools. Her love for learning and literacy left an indelible mark on her community.

She was deeply involved in organizations including Friends of the Swampscott Public Library, The Cocker Spaniel Rescue of New England and Sea Glass Village.

In her free time, Linda enjoyed gardening, reading and cherishing moments with family and friends.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
