Mr. Lloyd Babcock

Mr. Lloyd V. “Lefty” Babcock, age 96, of Lynn, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Medway Country Manor Nursing Home. Lloyd was the devoted husband of the late Marie (Drolet) Babcock, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.

Lloyd was born in Lynn to the late Melbourne and Margaret (Downing) Babcock. He graduated from Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1936. He enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly defended our freedom during WWII. After the war, Lloyd began his career as a set-up man with GE and worked there until his retirement in 1979.

Lloyd greatly enjoyed square dancing, bowling and golfing. He was a member of the Lynn YMCA Retired Men’s and Women’s Club. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Lloyd leaves two children; Kevin T. Babcock of Norfolk and Eileen P. Kahn of Medway. He was the loving Grandfather to Ryan and Emma Kahn. Lloyd was the brother to the late Melbourne Babcock, Jr., Earl Babcock, and Edith O’Connell. Lloyd was the father of the late James Babcock. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

His Funeral will be held at the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Thursday at 10:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting Hours Wednesday 5-8PM. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
