
Mrs. M. Nora (Levasseur) Valliere, age 82, of Peabody, died early Monday in Brooksby Village of Peabody after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late James A. Valliere, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.
Born in Grand Isle, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Catherine (Soucy) Levasseur. She was a graduate and class president of St. Jean’s High School Class of 1950 and resided in Lynn for most of her life.
Prior to her retirement in 1998, she spent over 21 years as an executive secretary at Eastern Bank. She was a communicant of St. Adelaide’s Church of Peabody and the former St. Jean Baptiste Church of Lynn.
She leaves her children, James W. Valliere and his wife Janet of Venice, FL, Richard E. Valliere and his wife Julie of Stuyvesant, NY, Kenneth P. Valliere and his wife Kathleen of Amesbury, Randal D. Valliere and his wife Maria of Peabody, Jane E. Valliere of Torrance, CA and Julie M. Gawlocki and her husband Peter of Nahant. She was the Grandmother to Paul D. Valliere, Stephen M. Valliere, Randal J. and Vanessa R. Valliere, Austin R. Valliere and Rachel S. Gawlocki. She was the sister to Claude E. Levasseur of Venice, FL, Elsie A. Snow of Peabody, Patricia J. Daigle of Austin, TX and M. Anne Underwood of Englewood, FL. She was the sister of the late Clifford, Alphonse, Claire and Wilfred Levasseur and Augustine L. Bonnevie.
Her Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Friday at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’s Church, West Peabody at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment St. Jean’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, CurePSP 30 E.
