Marianne Pacheco, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, at the Brudnick Center in Peabody, after complications related to COPD and Alzheimer’s disease.
Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, Marianne was the daughter of the late William and Esther (Junkins) Hill. She spent most of her life in Lynn, where she graduated from high school and began building a life full of love and resilience.
Marianne was first married to Louis E. Amico, with whom she shared 26 years of marriage and three children. Later, she found lasting companionship with her second husband, Robert Pacheco. They were married for 24 years until his passing in 2015.
She leaves two daughters, Pam Amico (Kirsten) of Rockport, MA, and Peggy Killam of Danvers, MA, and one son, Louis E. Amico Jr. (Donna) of Lynn, MA. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Paul DiMuzio (Neli), Lauren DiMuzio, Lia DiMuzio, Kevin DiMuzio(Jordan), Samantha Amico (Joey), and Alex Amico.
One of thirteen siblings, Marianne leaves behind two cherished brothers, Jerome Hill (Patty) of Beverly, MA, and Richard Hill (Donna) of Salisbury, MA, along with many nieces and nephews who affectionately knew her as “Auntie Mame.”
She is predeceased by six sisters: Margaret Soule, Patricia Adgerson, Christine Tibbets, Diane Losanno, Judy Prushinski, and JoAnn Muse; and four brothers: William, Thomas, James, and Robert Hill.
A lifelong learner, Marianne took night classes in business and worked for many years at New England Telephone, retiring at the age of 55. In retirement, she enjoyed several peaceful years on the lake in Naples, Maine, with her husband Bob, before returning to Lynn.
Marianne had a vibrant spirit and many passions. She loved nature, was an avid reader and a master of crossword puzzles. Her skilled hands created beautiful works as a knitter, seamstress, and quilter. She was also an enthusiastic gardener and, whenever music played, the first one on the dance floor—especially when it came to the jitterbug.
Above all, Marianne was devoted to her family. She gave generously of her love and time as a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marianne’s visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 9:00 AM from Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street, Lynn. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
