It took several firefighters many hours to help Henry Allen and Etta Eleanor Garrett bring their bundle of joy into the world on March 22, 1935 as she was born dead. Margie was prideful of this fact always saying she was determined to come into this world. Margie grew up in Everett, Massachusetts, the youngest and little “tag along” of her eight siblings, Etta Muriel, Earl Lyons, Eleanor Dorothea, Isabel Rita, Alberta Amelia, Thomas Allen, Florence Patricia and Norma Elaine, all of whom predeceased Margie. For the majority of her life, Margie worked at Polaroid and drove her little blue Chevy Nova. Margie prided in herself in only having one job of which she worked at since she was sixteen years of age.
Margie was a vivid reader, bingo player and a frequent member of the Winthrop Senior Center monthly gatherings, though the past few years less frequent. Margie grew up an animal lover and her most constant companion was always her cat. Over the years, Margie was mother to Ralph, Elmer, Mandy and most recently, her most precious cat, Gracie, who is currently in the care of a wonderful family.
Margie leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
