

LYNN - Mrs. Marjorie O. (Stinson) Marston, age 82, of Peabody, formerly a longtime resident of Lynn, passed away, Wednesday, May 2nd, at Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers. She was the beloved wife of the late Leander R. Marston, Jr. with whom she shared 42 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Winford and Blanche (LaPointe) Stinson. Margie was the loving mother of Deborah Hackett and her husband, Richard Muise of Middleton, Donna Legro of Wilmington, Mark Stickney and his wife, Elizabeth of Peabody, Denise Nichols and her husband, Charles of Woburn and Leann Orcutt and her husband, Edward of Northfield; the cherished grandmother of Eric Legro and his wife, Kathryn, Samantha Stickney and her fiancé, Bryan Case, Rebecca and Ashley Stickney, Mark Sullivan and his wife, Catherine, Tracy Roy and her husband, Leslie, and Amber, Desiree and John Orcutt, the adoring great-grandmother of Madison Roy; the dear sister of Ronald Stinson and his wife, Gail of Lynn and the late Winford “Brud” Stinson, Jr.; the sister-in-law of Carolyn Stinson of Lynn; and the aunt of several nieces and nephews.
Margie enjoyed reading, knitting, sewing, cooking, and gardening. She and Lee were Red Sox fans who thoroughly enjoyed watching games together. She raised her 5 children and cared for her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews as well as her father.
Margie had a big heart and opened her home to neighborhood children. She was a confidant to many, both relatives and neighbors. Some of her fondest memories were family picnics, holidays and other gatherings with her family and her two brothers’ families. Although she cherished her role as big sister to her two brothers, Brud and Ronnie, she also considered them among her closest friends.
Marjorie’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 9th at 10:00 AM from the CUFFE-McGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Pius V Church, Lynn. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 8th, from 4- 8 PM.
