

Mark F. Messina, of Lynn, passed away unexpectedly in Melrose on Monday, January 11, 2016, he was 56. Born in Lynn on November 30, 1959, he was the son of Donald Messina of Lynn and the late Frances (White) Messina. Mark was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English Class of 1977. After high school, he enlisted into the US Marine Corps to help serve our country. Mark was well versed working many jobs in all trades. He was most recently employed with Uber transportation. Most important in Mark’s life was his family, especially his children, Nicole Wilmarth and her husband David, of Melrose, Ashley Messina of Washington, DC, and Alex Messina of Boston. Mark enjoyed vacations with his family and traveled to many sporting venues all across the country. In his spare time, Mark enjoyed his daily walks with his beloved dog, Molly, in Lynn Woods and playing racquetball and spinning at his health club. He was an avid sports fan and followed the NY Giants, Baltimore Orioles and Chicago Blackhawks. In addition to his father and children, Mark is survived by his siblings; Maureen D’Entremont and her husband, James of Lynn, Kathleen Cohen and her husband, Fred of Danvers, Daniel Messina of Lynn, and Nancie DeJoie and her husband, Paul of Lynn. Mark is also survived by his former wife, Ann (Comeau) Messina of Wakefield, his brother-in-law, Kenneth Bornstein of Lynn, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to his mother, Mark was preceded in death by his siblings, Donna Bornstein, James Messina, and Rocco Messina. Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple St. LYNN on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 8AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple St. Lynn at 9AM. Interment services will be held privately. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM.
