Martha (Sardella) Rando, 87, of Lynn passed away on April 21, 2020 at Beverly Hospital after a long and lengthy illness. She was born on February 22, 1933 to the late Rose (Sardella) McCadden, and was the cherished wife of Alfred Rando.
She was the loving mother of Valerie Santoro and her husband Kenneth L., Vincent Rando, David Rando, and Donna Morehouse and her husband John; the beloved grandmother of Jason Santoro, Stephen Santoro, Anthony Rando, Alyssa Castonguay, Caitlyn Castonguay, and Tyler Castonguay; the dear sister of Patricia Gilberti, Mickey Nobile, and Shirley Ryan; she is also survived by her four beloved great grandchildren, and many treasured friends and extended family.
Martha was a strong woman who did not complain about what life had given her. With a big heart, great sense of humor, Martha always knew how to make everyone around her laugh and smile. She worked as a talented seamstress for Simon Uniform for 27 years before her retirement. Sewing was a passion of hers and she was known for being able to make beautiful handmade garments. She had a passion for creating something from nothing, whether it was a gorgeous dress, or a personal painted portrait. She loved to draw and if she was not sewing you could find her making a personal portrait of her loved ones.
A celebration of life for Martha will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Martha’s memory to the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Cancer Research, 55 Fruit Street, Boston, MA 02114 or at https://giving.massgeneral.org/cancer/donate/
