

Mary was born in Lynn, daughter of the late Kimon and Frances (Boti) Gikas. She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School Class of 1934. She was a resident of Lynn for most of her life until moving to Marietta, GA 5 years ago, where she enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Mary had a zest for life and a resilience that was unsurpassibly remarkable. She made a profound impact on everyone she came into contact with and will be deeply missed. Her Georgia family was privileged to have her live with them since April 2005”
Mary worked for the City of Lynn in the Election Office for 21 years until her retirement in 1991. During WW II she worked at the General Electric Company West Lynn as a Clerk.
Mary was a devoted parishioner of Holy Family Church for many years. She was also active with the senior citizens club at the YMCA.
She is survived by 2 daughters Mary A. “Mamie” Mazzuchelli and her husband John of Marietta, GA and Patricia M. Shaughnessy of Peabody. Also survived by her son in law John Shaughnessy of Lynn, 2 grandchildren Dr. Thomas J. Mazzuchelli and his wife Jennifer and Joanne Pulley and her husband Christopher. Her 5 loving great grandchildren Morgan, Sophia, Kate, Emma and Ava and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Charles and John Gikas.
Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn Thursday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass in Holy Family Church at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday from 3-7 PM. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lynn.
