Michael Patrick Noonan

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Patrick Noonan Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who passed away on September 11, 2025, at the age of 58 after a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Lynn, MA, Michael was a proud member of his community and spent his life making a difference to all who knew him.

Michael was a 1986 graduate of Lynn Tech Vocational School, and for 26 years, he worked for the City of Lynn as a custodian, where he was well-known and respected by colleagues. Prior to that, he worked as a local plumber for many years.

Michael was also a proud member of the Knights of Pythias of Lynn, where he formed lifelong bonds with his brothers and contributed to the organization’s mission of friendship, charity, and benevolence.

He was the husband of Rose Noonan whom he shared over 40 years of love and friendship, and the loving father to Jami Doherty and her husband Dan of Woburn, and Michael Noonan Jr. and his wife Carly Noonan of Suffield, CT. Michael was the loving “Grampy” to Ethan and Teagan Doherty, and Hailey Noonan, they were the light of his life, and he took great joy in watching them grow and cheering them on at their games and events.

He was the beloved son of the late John and Marie Noonan and was predeceased by his brothers, Thomas Noonan and John "Jack" Noonan. He is survived by his siblings, Wayne Noonan and his wife Melinda of Nahant, Dottie Felch and her late husband Richard of Seminole, FL., and Kevin Noonan of Lynn. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and many dear friends and co-workers.

Michael was an avid sports fan of all Boston teams. Michael’s family will always remember him for his generous heart, his sense of humor, and his deep loyalty to his loved ones, and his unshakeable support for his grandchildren will forever be cherished.

Michael’s visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. His Funeral Service will follow on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM, also at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
