Patricia H. Scally

Patricia H. (Gauvain) Scally, a lifelong resident of Lynn, passed away on January 19, 2026, peacefully at home. She was born in Lynn to the late Arthur and Helen (Marr) Gauvain and was married to her late husband, Francis W. Scally, for 57 years.

She considered herself to have been blessed with wonderful neighbors who were dear to her. She had a unique sense of humor, and enjoyed many hobbies, including knitting, needlepoint, travel, bowling, flying kites, dancing and socializing with friends and family. She was also a member of St. Pius V Church in Lynn.

Patricia is survived by her five children: Thomas Scally and his wife Evelyn of Lowell, James Scally and his wife Maggie Cole of Cotuit, Patrick Scally and his wife Mary of Bradford, David Scally and his wife Linda of Georgetown, and Susan Ditty and her husband Bob of Lynn. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Arthur and Michael Gauvain.

A visitation will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 5-8 PM. There will be a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Pius V Church with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lynn.
