Rev. Paul Nelson Vail, born June 2nd, 1944, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025 knowing unmistakably how incredibly loved he was. He lived a humble life of service as a Nazarene Pastor serving for 50 years in the ministry. Throughout his life, he pastored churches in Indiana, Connecticut, Maine, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts including the Lynn Church of the Nazarene where he ministered for nearly 16 years. In his retirement, he served for 8 years as Inter Faith Hospice Chaplain and returned to the Lynn Church of the Nazarene as Pastor Emeritus.
In addition to his work, Paul enjoyed collecting model trains, going to French Club, having coffee with his friends, baking molasses cookies with a recipe handed down from his Mom and cooking a beef stew that might just rival any Michelin star restaurant but we may be biased.
He leaves behind loved ones who are mourning but better for having known him and thankful that we got to share this life with him including his beloved wife Carolyn Vail with whom he shared 59 years of marriage; his cherished children Michael Vail (Stacy Vail) and Becky LeBlanc (Joe LeBlanc); his deeply treasured grandchildren Chloe, Carmen, Reece and Remy; his much loved siblings David Vail, Ted Vail, Dan Vail and Merrylee Vail as well as many dear nieces and nephews; and grateful friends, new and old, met along the way who were touched by his kindness.
Visitation will be held on Friday May 30, 2025 from 4:30 to 7:30 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Lynn First Church of the Nazarene, 233 Eastern Avenue, Lynn on Saturday May 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
