AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Pauline Channell

22 juillet 1944 – 19 mai 2025
Avis de décès de Pauline Channell
AUX SOINS DE

Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home

Pauline M. (Federico) Channell passed peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends, on Tuesday, May 19, 2025. Pauline was born in South Boston on July 22, 1944, along with her twin sister, Paula. Shortly after, their cousin Joanne DiMaggio was born, and from that moment on, they were no longer twins but "triplets" and lifelong friends.

Pauline was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother—a kind, caring, and intelligent woman who was strong-minded and always put others before herself.

A lifelong learner, Pauline began her college journey at the age of 45. In short succession, she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees and went on to become a professor at Eastern Nazarene College. She taught there for several years before retiring to begin her next chapter.

At the age of 70, Pauline began working as a home health aide for people suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia. She cared for her clients with the same compassion she showed everyone in her life, providing comfort to many families. She retired shortly after her 80th birthday.

Pauline leaves behind her husband of 24 years, John Channell, who was a devoted and loving companion, bringing joy and adventure into her life. Together, they shared many wonderful memories and embraced life to the fullest. She is also survived by her three beloved daughters and five cherished grandchildren: Judi Stevens; Christine McDonough and her longtime companion, Ken Mackey; and Suzanne Mayo and her husband, Chris. Her grandchildren—Joshua, Jake, Emma, Adam, and Noah—will always remember her fondly as their beloved “Nana Wacky.” She is also survived by her brother Jim, his wife Annie, and their family; cousin Joanne Polcari and her husband Louie. Pauline was predeceased by her sister Paula and their eldest brother, Vincent. Pauline was a significant presence in the lives of Paula’s children and their families, and they have now lovingly adopted her beloved dog, Bailey.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association—an organization close to her heart after losing her mother, Nora Federico, and her father-in-law, Les Channell, to the disease, along with many others.
