

Mrs. Pauline A. (Sherlock) Lynch, age 88, of Locust St., Lynn, died Wednesday night in the Kaplan Family Hospice House following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Francis X. Lynch, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.
Born in Dover, New Hampshire, Pauline was the daughter of the late John J. and Margaret I. (Mulligan) Sherlock of Ireland. She was raised in Boston, was a graduate of Cathedral High School and previously resided in South Boston before moving to Lynn 50 years ago.
Prior to her retirement in 1976, Pauline was employed by the Security National Bank of Lynn where she worked as a Clerk. An active communicant of Saint Pius V Parish, she was also a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. She was a member of the Cathedral High Alumni Association and the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Pauline enjoyed many arts and crafts including sewing and was an avid bowler.
Pauline was the devoted mother of Donald F.X. Lynch and his wife Barbara of Dunedin, FL, Gregory P. Lynch and his wife Tracy of Kingston, NH and Elizabeth A. Dropski and her husband William of Hampton, VA. She was the sister in law of Lauretta Sherlock of Boston and Cleo Mahoney of West Newton. Pauline is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Christine M. Lynch, the sister of the late John, Martin and Edward Sherlock, Dorothy Sheldon, Margaret Locke, Mary Miller, Madolyn Curran, Sally McLean and Phyllis Bonini, and was the grandmother of the late Carrie Ann Anderson.
Pauline’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Monday at 9:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Pius V Church at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting Hours Sunday 1-4PM. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Pius V Conference, 215 Maple St. Lynn, MA 01904.
