Perry C. Barrasso, age 56, a longtime resident of Nahant, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston following a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Kerry (Quinn) Barrasso, with whom he shared over 30 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Salem, MA on August 4, 1964, he was the son of the late Nicholas F. Barrasso and Carol (Craig) Barrasso. He was raised in Danvers and graduated from Danvers High School with the Class of 1982.
Perry was a longtime, hardworking employee at the family business, Quinn of Lynn Insurance Agency, in Lynn. Perry had a contagious smile, and gave the best hugs. Perry loved to golf, vacation with his wife and children, cook and entertain, and he never missed any of his children’s various events, always the proudest spectator.
Perry was a former member of the Nahant Board of Selectmen, current Chairman of the Nahant Board of Assessors, a member of the Nahant Lions, and Kelley Greens Golf Course Inner Club. He coached CYO basketball for many years.
Perry loved to be surrounded by his friends, but especially cherished his family. Along with his dear wife, he is survived by his children, Dr. Kelsey Barrasso of Medford, Shannon Barrasso of Andover, and Craig Barrasso of Nahant; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth “Betty” Quinn of Nahant; his brother and sister-in-laws, Colleen (Quinn) and Paul Sainato of Nahant, and Thomas F. Quinn, III of Nahant, along with several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Arrangements: Family and friends are invited to call at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn on Thursday, April 22nd from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nahant, on Friday, April 23rd at 11 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Perry’s honor may be made to Hope Beyond Hope, 28 Front Street, Weymouth, MA 02188, or via Venmo to Sherri Duggan, @HopeBeyondHope.
