

Born in Lynn, Phil was the son of the late Vincent and Emelinda (Foglietta) Germano and the beloved husband of the late June E. (Prime) Germano. Phil was the loving father of Susan Germano of Danvers, Daniel Germano of New Hampshire, Karen Reddy of Lynn, Cindy Soulia of Colorado, Colleen Hogan of Abington, Gary Germano of New Hampshire, Richard Germano and his wife, Carol, Kalen Hickenbottom and her husband, Joel, all of Lynn, Darlene Nelson and her husband, Hassan of Salem, Philip Germano-Hall and his husband, John of East Boston, and Erin Davis and her husband, Joseph of Michigan, the dear brother of the late Vincent, Edward and Richard Germano; the close lifelong friend of Neal LaFleur of Lynn; the cherished grandfather of 17 grandchildren; great-grandfather of 6 and the uncle of several nieces and nephews.
Phil graduated from Lynn English High School with the class of 1953. Phil was a maintenance supervisor with the Lynn Public School system for over 34 years until his retirement. He was a longtime member of Holy Family Parish, Lynn and of the Lynn Knights of Columbus, Valladolid Council #70. He was also a member of and served as past president of AFSCME Union Local #1736. Philip enjoyed playing cribbage with his family and friends. He enjoyed going to Artie's for coffee with his best friend Neal and spending time with his kids and grandchildren.
Phil’s funeral will be held on FRIDAY, July 1st, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 26 Bessom Street, Lynn. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held on WEDNESDAY, June 29th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St., Lynn. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Phil’s memory dedicated to Cancer Research, Cancer Research Fund, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Pl.
