Rafael Antonio Cruz

Beloved husband of Esperanza J. Bonilla de Cruz for 70 years. Together, they shared a lifelong devotion—Esperanza as a loving and dedicated wife, and Rafael as a steadfast provider for his wife and family.

He is survived by his children Rafael Cruz, Bernarda Cruz De Jerez, Claudia Cruz, Bielka Cruz, and Ricky Cruz, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, the late Rosa Cruz.

Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Rafael built his life and family there, later spending time working in the United States. He worked as a truck driver and enjoyed mechanic work, which he proudly passed on to his children.

He loved music, playing the harmonica, cheering for the Boston Red Sox, and watching The Price Is Right. Known for his humor and warmth, he was the life of the party and brought joy wherever he went.

A funeral service for Rafael will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 2:00–5:00 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St, Lynn, MA. He will be laid to rest in Mao, Valverde, Dominican Republic.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes expressions of sympathy through memories, prayers, and love shared in Rafael’s honor.

Rafael Antonio Cruz, de 95 años, de Lynn, Massachusetts, falleció en paz el 14 de septiembre de 2025 en Salem, rodeado del amor de su esposa e hijos.

Esposo devoto de Esperanza J. Bonilla de Cruz durante 70 años. Juntos compartieron una vida de entrega mutua—Esperanza como una esposa amorosa y dedicada, y Rafael como un proveedor incansable que siempre trabajó para el bienestar de su esposa y su familia.

Le sobreviven sus hijos Rafael Cruz, Bernarda Cruz De Jerez, Claudia Cruz, Bielka Cruz y Ricky Cruz, además de muchos nietos y bisnietos. Le precedió en la muerte su querida hija, la fallecida Rosa Cruz.

Nacido y criado en la República Dominicana, Rafael construyó allí su vida y su familia, y más tarde trabajó en los Estados Unidos. Pasó gran parte de su carrera como chofer de camión y disfrutaba de la mecánica, pasión que transmitió con orgullo a sus hijos.

Amaba la música, tocar la armónica, animar a su querido equipo Boston Red Sox y ver The Price Is Right. Reconocido por su humor y calidez, fue siempre el alma de la fiesta y llenaba de alegría cualquier lugar.

El servicio fúnebre se llevará a cabo el sábado, 20 de septiembre de 2025, de 2:00 a 5:00 p.m. en Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St, Lynn, MA. Rafael será sepultado en Mao, Valverde, su tierra amada.

En lugar de flores, la familia agradece las expresiones de simpatía a través de recuerdos, oraciones y muestras de amor en honor a Rafael.
