Richard J. Benedict

A lifelong resident of Lynn, Richard was the son of the late James W. and Isabelle (Russell) Benedict.

Richard was a maintenance pipefitter for G.E. Riverworks for 43 years, retiring in 2010. He was a G.E. Apprentice Program graduate.

Richard enjoyed fooling around with hotrod trucks. He cherished spending time with family and friends. Also, he was a faithful attendee of Austin Square Baptist Church and West Congregational Church. Above all, he was a true believer in Christ Jesus. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his children; Gerard E. and his wife Sam, David R. and his wife Jennifer, Michael R., and John R. Benedict all of Lynn. He was the loving Grandfather of Dante Benedict. Richard was the brother of James S. Benedict and his wife Cindy of Saugus and the late Dorothy “Dottie” Corthell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Richard’s Funeral Service will be held at the CUFFE-McGINN FUNERAL HOME 157 Maple St., Lynn on Wednesday July 1, 2015 at 10AM. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. The collation will be followed at Austin Square Baptist Church. Visiting Hours for the Wake will be Tuesday June 30, 2015 from 4-8PM.
