

Richard was born in Rochester, NH, the son of the late Clancy and Helen (Rodgers) Johnson.
He honorably served his country during World War II in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division, with combat jumps during D-Day and Battle of the Bulge. After his honorable discharge from the US Army, Richard was employed with G.T.E. Sylvania for 37 years, before his retirement in 1987. Richard enjoyed golfing and his 22 year vacation in Lady Lake, FL.
In addition to his beloved wife, Richard is survived by his sons, Richard Johnson Jr. and wife, Kathy of Rowley, Terry Johnson and wife Deborah of Lynn, Mark Johnson and wife Maureen of Haverhill and Gregg Johnson and wife Angie of Lynn. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services for Richard will be held on Wednesday at 11AM at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St., Peabody. Relatives and friends invited. At the family’s request, there will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chelsea Soldiers Home, 91 Crest Ave, Chelsea, MA 02150.
