Robert A. Strauss

Robert “Bob” A. Strauss,78, a former long time resident of Lynn who moved to Billerica in his later years, passed away unexpectedly after a brief battle against the Corona virus at the Palm Center in Chelmsford on April 23rd, 2020. He was born in Richmond, NY to his beloved mother Sophie (Strauss) Brahm, and later married his cherished late wife Judith “Judy” (Wasilewicz) Strauss, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.

He is survived by his three sons, Lee David Philbrook and his wife Renee of Lynn, Stephen Mark Strauss and his wife Nancy of Billerica, Michael Philip Strauss and his wife Marie of Gloucester; eight grandchildren, Justin, Fawn, Jennifer, Kyle, Stephanie, Madison, Mia and Meredith and his sister-in-law, Diane Voights of Essex. He was also predeceased by his daughter Laura Fawn Philbrook of Lynn.

Bob was a loving father and grandfather who deeply enjoyed being able to spend time with his adoring family. He was a graduate of Lynn Classical and was a gifted athlete of both their baseball and football programs. He coached all of his sons in Little League Baseball for a number of years and passed on the love of the game to them. He was also very passionate about animals.

He was an avid sports fan and truly loved his Boston Red sox. His hobbies included listening to blues music, and participating in fantasy sports leagues with friends and family.

A celebration of life for Bob will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Pl, Boston, MA 02215.
