As another summer approaches,  your pool friends will always keep you in their memories. You were such a giving, happy, fun person to share the days with. We'll all raise a glass to you, T.J.!

TJ - you created the FUN in every day! You always dressed so dapper.  You were game for anything.  I miss you to this day - Sal and I loved you dearly - you “turned the light on” every time we were together- a true loss to us

To the Family of TJ Eastman-- I had the honor to work with TJ at BU.  I can attest not only to his high-level of professionalism & responsiveness, but also his fierce energy and sense of fun.  News of his death struck me quite hard.  I had just started to clean up the gardens at my place. (Yes, I am lucky to have gardens & hobbies in the time of COVID.)  And I decided to plant gladiolas in tribute to TJ.  It's mid-August now and they have been blooming for nearly one month.  A very pleasant & colorful reminder of an extraordinarily good guy during this relentlessly tragic time .  His death is a big loss.  I missed the chance to build a deeper friendship. I will continue to pay tribute to his memory.   

TJ, I so enjoyed getting to know you at work. Will miss seeing you on campus. Rest easy. 

TJ, too many Suffolk alumni events to count when you’d register as one yet quickly held court at the most active table; reuniting with cherished friends and meeting new ones. Your heart and generosity were full while your laughter enchanted us all. You have left an indelible mark. 

I’m very saddened to hear about TJ’s passing he had a really good friend of mine he showed me so much stuff he help me out more than you would know he’s gonna be missed from my family to me he’s going to be missed we had such a good time we hung out he went out with my family and I one night we went to a comedy club and we had a great time he was the life of the party he was so much fun that’s what I miss him for a night for that has a beautiful smile he’s an incredible man with a good heart and he will be missed I did not know this until today May 13

I was so saddened to learn of TJ's sudden passing at such a young age.  As the former director of the Harvard College Fund Acknowledgments Program at Harvard University, I consulted him often regarding complex gifts.  He was highly responsible, hard-working, and always, always respectful and helpful to everyone.  Along with his outstanding professionalism, he had the rare quality of kindly humility.  

Wishing God's loving blessings on him and on his beloved family members who have been left behind.  My heart goes out to you.

TJ and I grew up down the street from one another.  He was my “first love.”  He was my first kiss in the red caboose club house in his backyard, my first dance, and the first boy to buy me a dozen roses for Valentine’s Day one year.  He bought us matching plastic neon sunglasses and promised that one day he would take me shopping on Rodeo Drive.  In 6th grade we won the lip sync contest with “I’ve had the time of my life” after practicing our Patrick Swayze & Baby moves for hours on end in my basement.  TJ was one of a kind with a heart of gold.  I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing.  My heart goes out to his Mom& Dad and Lisa and Gary, who I remember fondly.  

I am so sorry to hear this news. TJ was a wonderful colleague at Harvard. I remember distinctly a joyful walk from the sanctioned holiday party to the impromptu after party full of laughter and warmth. My heart goes out to TJ’s family and loved ones. 

To the Eastman Family:  I am so sad to hear about TJ and I offer my deepest sympathy on the loss of your Son, Brother and Uncle. TJ spoke lovingly of you, his family, always looking forward to seeing you for holidays, birthdays or visits.  Your loss has rippled out  to affect everyone who knew him.  I had the pleasure of working with TJ for many years at Harvard. TJ always had a ready smile for everyone.  He was a rare combination of being professional, caring, friendly, knowledgeable and lots of fun. TJ was not only an invaluable resource for so many people, he was an excellent communicator and an incredible friend to all.  No matter how busy he was, he always had time for others.  To listen, to help, to care.
TJ was well-loved at Harvard and beyond, and he will be sorely missed. He made such an impact in his short time here on earth. 
Kindness, generosity, friendship and love are his legacy to us.
We are all better off for having known TJ.

To TJ:  I will miss you forever, dear TJ!  It seems like it wasn't that long ago that I spoke to you...who would have known that would be the last time?
Memories of you will always be in my heart.  I remember your first day at Harvard.  You were smiling, friendly, and smart.  It didn't take long for you to become our "Go-To" person who would be entrusted to handle many complex gift situations.

You gave 100% to everything you did. You encouraged us to give to others by organizing a toy drive every Christmas, collecting new toys for the sick children at Boston Children's Hospital.  That toy cart was overflowing with new toys for those children every year.

Your 40th birthday is a moment in time I will never forget.  You had such a big heart - inviting us all to celebrate in James Bond style. Singing, dancing, smiling and laughing the night away.  It was the highlight of the year for all of us, thanks to you, TJ.

Love you...sweet dreams dear Friend...looking forward seeing you again one day up in Heaven...


I met TJ at Charles River Park pool. We were standing in the pool chatting and having a cocktail, it was a beautiful day. 
I remember thinking later that afternoon what a fun, vibrant guy he was. He was a great summer friend and I always looked forward to our pool chats and all the fun we had spending time in the sunshine. He will be very missed by me and so many others. His zest for life  was and always will be a fantastic tribute to the great man he was. 

TJ and I worked together at Harvard University for 12 years or more.  He was kind, joyful and enjoyed life to the fullest and I loved that about him.  It was great having him in the office and as a friend.  He was just an awesome person and I will miss seeing him ever now and then when he stops by  our office for a visit or to say hi.

We had won prom king and queen one year for our department Hallowaad.  He always had the best customs.  I had the best time at his 40th birthday party.

My friend I will treasure our friendship forever and I will forever miss you and your postings on Facebook.  Love you always and forever to the moon and back.❤️

I am so saddened to hear this news and send my deepest condolences to the Eastman family. I had the pleasure of working with TJ for many years at Harvard. He was incredibly generous, helpful and kind.  As you may know, he worked with people who  were spread out across many schools, many of whom were physically removed and in other parts of the city.  I remember being in a meeting at the main university offices a few years ago with lots and lots of folks who had talked to and emailed, but never actually met TJ. Well, he was in this meeting in person and when we were making introductions around a very large table and TJ said his name, there was a huge collective gasp and lots of grumpy people in a 9am meeting all of a sudden had huge smiles on their faces and were waving and saying “Hi TJ!!”  It was just lovely to see that TJ was adored not just by me, but by everyone who had the pleasure of working with him. 

TJ and I worked together at Harvard University for 10 years where i gave him the nickname of “Bubbles.”   Remember the “boy in the plastic bubble” movie.  He loved his nickname.  

Bubbles and i were not only colleagues we had a very close bond; he was family to me.  I told him two weeks ago he was stuck with me forever in his life and his response was “YAY” that makes me happy.     

Bubbles was a special man and he will always hold a special place in my heart.  He lit up every room he entered and he lived life to the fullest enjoying every second.  I would always joke with him there can only be one “Princess” in this world and it’s me.. and we would both giggle.. because we knew it was him.   

Bubbles treasured his mom and dad, his family and his friends.  When he threw his 40th birthday party, it was to give his friends and his family a chance to meet.  It was his way of giving a gift to his friends and family .. a night they would never forget.  He loved having everyone he loved in one place and let’s not forget he loved being 007..

My funniest moment with Bubbles is when we took a 20 day vacation  and i took him to a park in  Fort Lauderdale. The ranger said watch for the spiders and we thought he was making a joke about Halloween.  We went in and there were massive spider webs 20 feet wide everywhere and  4 inch spiders like the movies.  Bubbles held his head and ducked and ran out of the park screaming like a girl.  I never laughed so hard.  

I was blessed to have him in my life and i will miss him dearly.  A day without Bubbles is a day without sunshine.  Let’s all try to be more like Bubbles going forward..be kind..be a friend to everyone.. make people laugh and smile.. make a difference in this world and enjoy life to the fullest.  To Bubbles.. you left us too early but the imprint u made on our lives will last a lifetime.  We love you.   

I met TJ  2 years ago at our summer  pool club.   I happen to be sitting near him with my husband and he struck up a conversation. He offered as champagne and a summer friendship was born.  

We are shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. There no words to describe hearing such sad news during such a sad time for all of us. My heart goes out to your family.  To lose such a smart, handsome and charming young man who had a long life ahead of him is terrible. I can't  imagine what that feels like.

 The last time I saw  TJ was during the summer of 2019 and before hearing this news I was looking forward to seeing him again at the pool. In addition to making the best pool cocktails ever, TJ had his crazy unicorn float that we all played on any made us feel like kids again. He just had this endless generosity, a big smile and a glow.  My sister says often that God puts people in your path for reason. I think TJ was put in our path remind us that we have so much to be thankful for and even when life difficult,  you can always turn lemons into lemonade. 
  
You spoke enthusiastically about the work that he was doing at Boston University and I can tell from the excitement that he had for his job that it was truly a passion for him. The benefactors of his hard work are lucky to have someone who was so devoted to their cause.

 To T j's family, I offer my deepest condolences for your loss.  There are no words to describe what you must be feeling but I hope that you all come together and can think about all of the good that he did during his short time on this Earth.

May he rest in peace and be with the Lord.

TJ was the life of our group. Always happy, always ready to help, always up for fun. I wish I had known him longer. We will all miss the blessing of his laughter and joy.  He had a wonderful smile. 

I am so surprised and saddened to hear that TJ has passed. I remember fondly a high school trip to Montreal where he, I, and a few others snuck out of our hotel after hours to explore the city. He was such a shining light and the memory of his smile will continue to brighten the lives of those who knew him. My sincere condolences to his family.

TJ was one of my best students..always smiling..always willing to help others..this is so sad for me..I followed his life of travels on facebook and always interested in the places he went and the pictures he shared....wish now i had attended one of his birthday bashes....may you always rest in peace TJ..I will miss you

TJ was a colleague of mine at Harvard University for many years.  He was always known as the "go-to" guy.  He was the most genuine, caring, thoughtful, and friendly colleague you could ask for.  If you needed something done and done right, you would go to TJ.  I have always held TJ in the highest regard and I know that every person who had the good fortune to work with him thought the same.  He will be sorely missed.

What a tremendous person TJ Eastman was!  A great student, and then in the years since he graduated a good friend.  No event will match his 40th birthday party at the Copley Plaza--how special to spend time with him and his many friends and family.   His good humor, joy at being alive, made all who knew him happier.  He leaves us an example of how to live a full life, bringing joy to others with grace and spirit.  Deeply grieved at this loss. 

Thomas was a dear and close friend of mine.  We enjoyed many great times together and with my family.  My family still talks about his 40th birthday party. I have many memories, but one that stands out is a Mediterranean cruise back in Sept 2012 with Thomas, Matthew and myself.   So many laughs. The photo is of Thomas on Rhodes Island in Greece.  He was never one to pass up a photo opportunity.  LOL We often talked about taking another Mediterranean cruise.  Well buddy if I do, it just will not be the same without you.  You were taken from us too soon.

TJ brought out the kid in all of us at the Charles River Pool Club - he was a member of Pool Pals for years and we always saved a chair for TJ.  TJ would show up at the pool always color coordinated- always with a smile and always happy.  He will be missed by many of us.  I personally am saddened by his passing - he was a good and generous friend.
