Thomas W. Moran

LYNN – Attorney Thomas W. Moran, 92, of Swampscott, formerly of Lynn and Lynnfield, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018. Born in Lynn, Thomas was the son of the late William and Katherine (Haley) Moran; he was the beloved husband of the late Pauline J. (White) Moran with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. He was the loving and devoted father of Kevin T. Moran and his partner, Lynne Segro of Pennsylvania, Attorney Timothy G. Moran and his wife, Nadine of Vermont and Erin M. Surette and her husband Stephen of Swampscott; cherished grandfather of Tyler B. Moran and his wife, Nancy of Texas, Jennifer Lavoie and her husband, Steven of Vermont, Molly P. McHarg and her husband, Michael of Salzburg, Austria, Siobhan M. and Thomas P. Surette of Swampscott and the late Timothy Moran; the adoring great grandfather of Maya, Owen, Adeline, Gianna, and Emma; the dear brother of the late Barbara Hammond and the uncle of several nieces and nephews.

Thomas graduated from Lynn English High School with the Class of 1942, Boston College with the Class of 1947 and Suffolk Law School with the Class of 1956. He passed the bar in 1958 and established his Law Office in downtown Lynn where he practiced for over 45 years. He was a member at Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead where he once hit a hole in one. He was also a member of the Lynn English High School Meadowlarks. Tom loved traveling; Paris was his favorite city to visit.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 5th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 174 Humphrey St., Swampscott. His Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the Church. Burial of his ashes will follow at Swampscott Cemetery.
