William G. Bochicchio

William G. Bochicchio, 86 of Lynn, former Lynn Police Officer, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 in the Spaulding Hospital in Cambridge. Born in Swampscott on October 14, 1929, he was the son of the late Gabriel and Annie (Scaring) Bochicchio. William was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. After high school, William enlisted into the U.S. Army and served one year before he joined the Navy to help fight for our country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged for his time served on October 24, 1952. Upon his return home, William became a Lynn Police Officer where he served proudly for over 20 years. His spare time was spent hunting in the woods of Maine and New Hampshire. William also loved to cook for family and friends. He loved the simple things in life like taking nature walks and time spent soaking up the sun. William is survived by his former wife, Claire (Kelly) Merrill of Lynn, his children; Kathleen Bochicchio of Lynn, Susan Acuna- Bochicchio of CA, William “Billy” Bochicchio of Swampscott, Daniel Bochicchio of ME, and John Bochicchio of ME, his grandchildren; Julie Barisano of Lynn, Ashley Conte and her husband, Dan of CA, Brianna Bochicchio of NH, Michael Bochicchio of Swampscott, Lacey Bochicchio of Georgetown, Austin Bochicchio of ME, and John Bochicchio, Jr. of Lynn, his niece; Anna Bochicchio-Lemaire and her husband, Roger of Lynn, his great-grandson; Jeremiah Barisano, and his long-time companion of 31 years, Barbara Cefalo of Lynn. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held in the CUFEE-McGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. LYNN on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM followed by a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 7PM. Interment service will be held privately.
