William F. F. DiThomas

Mr. William F. DiThomas, age 67, of Lynn, died on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Della (Hartigan) DiThomas, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn, and a lifelong resident, he was the son of the late Lawrence DiThomas and Helen (Andrews) DiThomas, and the step-son of Kay DiThomas of San Francisco, CA.

He touched many people throughout his life with his love, kindness, humor and musical talent. He was one of a kind, the most caring and loyal man and an amazing Husband, Father & Papa.

Bill served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for 18 months. He worked as a machinist at the G.E. River Works for 20 years before retiring in September 2016.

Bill was a musician for all of his life and played in North Wind & Verona Blvd.

In addition to his wife, he was the father of William DiThomas II & his wife Renee of Swampscott, Helena Leavitt & her husband Marc of Lynn, Joseph Rogato and his wife Mei of Lynn, David Rogato and his wife Sheryl of Billerica and was the brother of Larry DiThomas and his wife Mary of Peabody, Loretta Maranhas and her husband David of San Francisco, CA, Roberta DiThomas of NH, sister-in-law Carol Nichole of Stoneham and the late John DiThomas and Louis DiThomas. He also leaves 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews along with extended family & many friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-7 PM in the CUFFE-McGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple Street, Lynn.
