

William E. “Bill” Sheppard, age 86 of Lynn, former longtime resident of Lady Lake, FL passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Beverly Hospital. He was born on October 20, 1931 in Swampscott, the son of the late Theodore and Margaret (Cameron) Sheppard. He was raised and educated in Lynn and graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1949. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and served as a Fire Control Technician (responsible for the calibration of the ships large guns). He served his country honorable and was discharged in 1955. Bill received a BS in Business, with Honors from Northeastern University in 1972. He worked for Raytheon Corporation at various location in Massachusetts as a Product Assurance Manager. He retired in 1992 with over 36 years of service.
Bill loved to stay active. He coached Lynn Central Little League baseball for many years. He was also the president of the Charlie Brown Bowling League at Lucky Strikes in Lynn for over 10 years. While living in Florida he enjoyed playing 2 to 3 rounds of golf per week and connecting with friends at the Tikki Bar. He enjoyed playing cards and board games with friends and family often and was an avid New England sports fan who always enjoyed watching the Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins games.
Bill is survived by his sons, Steven W. Sheppard and his wife Carol and William F. Sheppard and his wife, Lisa all of Lynn. His daughters, Diane M. Gulla and her husband, Dominic of Weymouth and Carol L. Sheppard Toth and her partner, John Dencenzo of Londonderry, NH. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Nicole Gulla, Maria Le, Alexandra Sheppard, Cameron Sheppard, Kenneth Sheppard, Kevin Sheppard, Michael Toth and his great-granddaughters, Ila and Fiona and sister in law Carmen Sheppard of Clovis, California. Bill was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Frances A. (Pustorino) Sheppard in 2010 and his brother, Jack Sheppard in 2009
Family and friends are invited to attend Bill’s visitation on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 9-10 AM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, MA 01904. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 10:30 AM at St. May’s Church, 8 South Common Street in Lynn. Burial with U.S. Navy Honors will follow the Mass in Pine Grove Cemetery on Boston Street in Lynn.
