Mr. William Tortorella, age 83, of Peabody, MA, died on Sept. 2, 2012 at Mass. General Hospital, Boston. Born in Boston on Jan. 2, 1929, he formerly lived in Medford, MA, Billerica, MA, Concord, MA and Siesta Key, FL.
He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of WWII, and for 32 years was a MIT Draper Labs Facility Manager.
William leaves his wife Rita C. (Bucci) Tortorella. He was the father of William of Easthampton, NY, Robert of Derry, NH, John of St. Petersburg, FL, James of Stratham, NH and Carol Coffey of Medway, MA, and the grandfather of Brooke, Hyatt, Eric, Stephanie, Nicholas, Brittany, Natalie and Caroline. He was the brother of the late Vincent, Louis and Frank Tortorella, Josephine Fichera and Sara Sarcia. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, Sept. 7th at 10 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell Street, Peabody, MA 01960 (978-535-1985). Contributions in lieu of flowers can be sent to Mass. General Hospital, Patient Care Services, Attn: Development Office, Neuroscience, 55 Fruit St., Boston MA 02114 (Checks payable to MGH, with notation “In Memory of William Tortorella”).
