William White

Dearly loved husband of the late Eleanor (Cole) White. Devoted father of Jacqueline and her husband Christopher of Norfolk, MA, William Jr. and his wife Laurie of Seekonk, MA, Edward and his wife Griselda of Winter Springs, FL and James and his wife Lynn of Braintree, MA. Proud grandfather of Daniel, Katelyn, John, Kyle, Andrew, Collin, Matthew and Julia.

Born on October 10, 1932, Bill was the son of Florence (McCormack) and William H. White. Bill graduated from Saint Mary’s High School - Lynn, MA with the class of 1950, and Merrimack College with a degree in Business Administration in 1954. Bill started a career in banking with his early years at Shawmut Bank and then moving to State Street Bank until his retirement. He also enjoyed a part time teaching position at North Shore Community College where he was able to share his expertise in management with students.

During the summer of 1957, Bill met the love of his life, Eleanor while vacationing on Cape Cod. The two married in November, 1959 and soon started a family. He very much enjoyed spending time and raising his family. A very engaged dad, he volunteered as the Pack Master of the local Cub Scout troop, coached Wyoma Little League and refereed and coached youth hockey.

Later in life, after his wife Eleanor lost her battle with cancer, Bill became an active volunteer with Hospice of the North Shore. He also served on the Parish Council at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic church in Lynnfield, MA

Bill’s grandchildren were a great source of pride. Being young at heart, he enjoyed their energy, and was genuinely interested in hearing about what was going on in their lives and their goals for the future. He could often be heard saying, “ you have the whole world in front of you, now use it!”
