Benjamin Daniel Humiston, 13, beloved son of Mark and Sarah Humiston, went to be with the Lord on October 21, 2024. Born on May 29, 2011, Ben was named in honor of both the patriarch and the faithful prophet of God’s people. He was a devoted young disciple of Jesus Christ, and deeply loved by his family. Along with his siblings, Ben enjoyed participating in the youth ministry at his home church, Taylor Creek, and his studies at Heritage Homeschool Co-op and Legacy Homeschool Center. Highly intelligent, Ben loved building on his robotics team; he was also an avid chess player and practiced both piano and guitar. He loved to tell jokes and consistently made hilarious punchlines with a straight face; he would often complete his family-members’ unfinished sentences with goofy suggestions. Ben dearly loved literature, and it was rare to find him without a novel in hand. He had great affection for his family and others, and would regularly help his siblings in the kitchen, with schoolwork, or even with simply finding a missing shoe. Ben also loved playing outside with his brothers and sisters, especially on the family’s backyard zipline, and you could often find him tinkering with electronic LEGOs. He was always eager to participate in family prayers and Bible studies, and eagerly took advantage of being discipled by his loving parents. Benjamin is survived by his brother Andrew; sister Brielle; maternal grandmother Kathryn Ogden; maternal uncle Joseph Ogden; paternal grandparents Mark and Beverly Humiston; paternal uncles and aunts Scott and Erin Humiston, and Jose and Emily Humiston Sanchez.
