David George Gavurnik passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012, he was 69 years old. He was born on April 26, 1942 in Johnson City, NY to George and Elizabeth Gavurnik. After graduating from high school he joined the army and was a Military Policeman. He was stationed at Sandia Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1963 he met and married his wife Virginia and in 1965 they moved to Seattle. David earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of Washington. In 1968 he started working for the Seattle Police Department. He retired in 2006 after 40 years of service. His hobbies were fishing and hunting. He was proceeded in death by his parents, George and Elizabeth and brothers, Don and Gene. His surviving family members are: Virginia (his wife of 48 years), 2 daughters Andrea Gorski (Scott) and Aimee, 2 grandsons Kyler and Logan Gorski, sister Ruth Dar, Sister In Law Doris Gavurnik, Brother In Law Doug Schaill and several neices and nephews. Services are at 1pm, Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Purdy Walters Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 409 Filbert Rd, Lynnwood, WA 98036.
