DeLaine Ann O'Leary Newton

Age 75, of Bothell, WA passed away on August 15, 2017. DeLaine was born on July 22, 1942 in Fort Wayne, IN to Ralph and Vivian DeArmond. At the age of two, DeLaine’s family moved to the Seattle area where she grew up with her family and sister Sondra in Edmonds and other NW locations. DeLaine graduated from Edmonds High School. In 1965, DeLaine married James O’Leary, together they adopted a son, Jereme, who passed away in 1980. She helped James raise her two step-daughters, Debby and Diane and one step-son, Dennis, who passed away in 1992. She was a grandmother to many grandchildren and great grandchildren, both natural and spiritual in nature, including Tiffanie Granigan, a great-niece who was like a daughter to DeLaine. After 27 years of marriage, James passed away in 1992. DeLaine was a talented interior designer for over 50 years, owning her own business, Design 31 Ltd. She was gifted and successful making many friends amongst her clients. DeLaine married Les Newton in 2002 and adopted his family, including his son, Josh (Erin), daughter, Sarah (Cameron) and twelve grandchildren. DeLaine leaves behind the legacy of a mother and mentor, caring, generous and humorous. She was a great story teller, evangelist and leader in bible study. She had a love for life and was greatly loved by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. We sorrow for us, but not for her. She is eternally happy with her Heavenly Father and many family and friends and is now healthy and more beautiful than ever. We have to ask, “Is she offering to decorate up there?” A visitation for DeLaine will be held at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills in Lynnwood, WA, on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 4pm to 8pm. A Memorial Service & Reception for DeLaine will be held at the Christian Faith Center, 13000 21st Dr SE Everett, WA on Saturday, September 2, 2017 beginning at 11:00am.
