Born on January 19, 1961, in San Juan City, Philippines, Edgar was the eldest child of Catalino Bustos Yumang and Elena Sison Yumang. He was the devoted “Kuya” to his sisters, Catherine Merced and Theresa Brown. He grew up surrounded by a close and loving extended family, including Aunts and Uncles who treated him like their own and cousins who felt more like siblings.
Edgar immigrated to Washington State in the early 1980s, where he built a life defined by hard work, resilience, and quiet generosity. He was a proud father to his two sons, Jeffrey Edgar Yumang and Cyril John (CJ) Yumang, whom he loved deeply.
Edgar will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his calm strength, and his unwavering support for those he cared about. To those who knew him, Edgar was a source of dependability, humor, and love.
After nearly a year-long battle with stage four pancreatic cancer, Edgar is now at peace. Though his absence leaves a profound void, we take comfort in knowing his suffering has ended and in the countless memories he leaves behind. His love, kindness, and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Rest in Paradise. Thank you for your love. We will carry you with us always.
