Ella and I were friends that met through square dancing.  She once shared that she had a bucket list of things/travels she and her husband had wanted to do but weren't able to do them.  We did all of the things/travels on her bucket list such as Calgary Stampede, Edmonton Mall, Kentucky Derby, cruises  and train trips.  I really miss her and I know that many of her friends do as well.

We first met Ella and Gene when we offered to help with the 1980 National in Seattle.  We went to their home to file registrations, NO computers then, there were wooden crates with letters on them stacked every where.  We had so much fun trying to keep everything organized.  They just seemed to make it work and come together, that was the BEST convention ever.  
The first year that we were wagon master for the seminar in Ellensburg, they camped next to us.  They had brought Wesley with them, I think he was 5 or 6 at the time.  He helped measure the sights, 17 ft. only, and then pounded in the numbered stakes.  He was so excited to be helping.  Ella and Gene took him into town, he came back with boots, chaps and a hat, he was so proud.  Ella and I talked about that many times when we traveled with her.  The train trip to Detroit, the trips to state meetings, sharing hotel rooms with her and the many stories she told about their adventures with the kids to Penticton will be greatly missed.
We loved the times she hosted the Bucks and Does Club picnics at her home.  She organized the Duck Races in the little creek, had prizes for all participants and many memories to share with all of us about their travels.
We will miss her so much, Rest in Peace beautiful friend.  We love you, always.


Ella and I never got lost, where ever we went, we had an adventure.  I met her through square dancing and we did a lot of trips together.  She'd been talking about going to New Zealand with friends and decided not to as she'd already been there. When I asked her why not she said that she had other things on her bucket list to do.  I asked her what were they.  After she told me, I said, great lets do them and we did all of her bucket list and then some.  The last trip we did together was a train trip to Jasper, Al., then to Banff and finally Lake Louise where we went on a dog sled ride.  She was the oldest person they'd ever taken.  We always had a great time . I'm going to miss her so much as is 
all  of the square dance world of which she was such a great part.

I grew up knowing Ella and Gene. They worked along side my folks, Kenn & Ginny Trimble, for many years. She would come to a lot of State meeting and festivals just to visit with her square dance friend.
She was an awesome lady. I know she will be missed by so many. Me included. I loved that lady. My heart and prayers go out to you.
