Florence passed away January 12, 2014 in Seattle at the age of 92. She was born January 3, 1922 in Mason City, Nebraska, the daughter of James and Jessie Jacobson. She grew up on a farm in Las Animas, Colorado and worked for the military during WWII. She moved to Seattle and was married to Harold H. Chase in 1948 until his passing in 2004. Together they operated a chicken farm in the Alderwood Manor area in the 1950’s, and subsequently became real estate investors in the Snohomish County area. Chase Way in Snohomish County near the location of the old farm is named after them. Florence is survived by her sister Eileen Prather, daughter Nadine Morgan, and sons Laurence, Lowell, and Harold Chase Jr. She is preceded in death by her sisters Ruby Cone and Annabel Jackman.
