Helen Marie Neff, 85, of Shoreline, WA, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024. She was born in Lexington, OK, on February 22, 1939. Helen ventured to San Diego, CA, at 18, where she met and married Navy Sailor Arnold Strand, a year later. They welcomed their son, Stan, in San Diego before relocating to Lynnwood, WA, where they had their daughter, Diana, followed by another son, Ron.
Years after Helen and Arnold divorced, she met Bill Neff, a wonderful man who became her loving companion and life partner. They married after two years of courtship and shared many happy years until Bill’s passing in 2011.
Helen is survived by her children, Stan (Joyce), Diana (Harvey), and Ron (Chris), as well as her cherished grandchildren Jerry (Dana) Strand, Chelsey (Ryan) Mulenga, and Lindsey Guay, and four great-grandchildren, along with several loving siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Helen was passionate about gardening, adored animals, and loved the excitement of winning at the casino. She also enjoyed road trips with Bill in their camper, always on the lookout for a fun campground.
Helen’s warm smile, kindness, and Southern charm touched everyone who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
The family is grateful for the outstanding care she received from the caregivers at Ashford Senior Living in Shoreline. Their kindness and attention to Helen during her three year residence, especially the last two months, allowed her to live comfortably and peacefully.
