

Lila was born in Kennewick, WA on June 17, 1954 to parents Vernon & Vivian Garberg of Benton City, WA. She was the fifth child of Vernon & Vivian’s seven children. Lila attended Kiona-Benton High School and graduated in 1972. Shortly after her graduation, she took a job as a medical assistant in Seattle. Lila was saved on March 19, 1976 at Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle, Lynnwood, WA. It was shortly thereafter she met the love of her life, Douglas Gardner and they married September 9, 1978. They welcomed daughter Alicia (Ruhoff) in September 1979 and son Benjamin in June 1981.
She loved her family and church and spent much of her time giving of herself and spending time with them. Lila thrived on pulling in those who were less fortunate or struggling and making them feel loved and secured. She loved to cook, teach, sew, camp and spend time at the family cabin in Lummi Island, WA. Her passing has left a huge hole in the lives of so many.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Gardner, her daughter Alicia Ruhoff (Jesse), and her son Benjamin Gardner (Kourtney).
Grandchildren: David Ruhoff (Natalie), Jonathan & Kenneth Ruhoff, Mason, Kenzie & Miles Gardner.
Siblings: James (Joyce) Garberg of Indiana; Dennis Garberg of Marysvillle, WA; Billie Dawkins (Kevin) of Everett, WA and many nieces and nephews.
There are countless others that have called her Aunt, Mom, Grandma (Aries), Sister and Friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Vivian (Eliason) Garberg and Father Vernon Garberg of Benton City, WA; her brothers Axel (Tonya) Garberg of Benton City, WA; Benjamin (Sheri) Garberg of Benton City, WA and her sister Vernalee (Andrew) Provchy of Anacortes, WA.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 17th, 2025 at 11:30 am at Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle in Lynnwood, WA. Interment will follow at Purdy and Walters, Floral Hills Cemetery in Lynnwood, WA.
