Marie Elva Seidel

Mother was born on December 8, 1926, in Jamestown, North Dakota to Bert and Ella Dobson. She was one of 9 children. She had 6 children of her own, Gloria (Steve) Young, Jerilyn (George) Davis, Kathleen Brittingham, Ronald (Susan) Wilson, Shannon (Ron) Simosky, and Kristi (Tony) Pederson. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

Mother worked as a grocery checker at Bothell Safeway for 27 years and after retiring, worked in the Foodservice Department at the Northshore School District for 10 years, where many of the children called her Grandma!

It was common to have holiday dinners at her home where she not only fed everyone but often sent home food for the next day! She loved her winter home in AZ, Hawaii vacations, sitting by the pool, listening and dancing to country and pop music, eating chicken wings and late-night pizza, shopping with her girls and lunch afterwards at Nordy’s, wearing leggings and T-shirts, but most of all, she loved her family and, her family loved her dearly!

A private Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held in August. Contact a family member for more information. Donations to Evergreen Hospice in honor of Marie Seidel’s memory, are welcome.
