Marissa Lynn Richards-Cook, 65, of Mill Creek, passed away on July 11, 2022 of intestinal complications that ultimately led to cardiac arrest. Born in Cambridge, England, she grew up in Bothell and attended Inglemoor High School, where she made many lifelong friends. As a young adult, she ran a catering business before joining the kitchen staff at Lakeside Milam; she worked there for more than 25 years as the Food Service Director and was a beloved manager to many. Marissa was a kind, giving, and gentle soul with a wicked sense of humor who brought joy and warmth to all who knew her. She loved her family fiercely, especially her daughter, Kaleigh Cook, whom she leaves behind along with her sisters, Janine Richards and Barbara Holte; her brother Sean Richards and brother-in-law John Holte; and her nieces, nephew, and great-nephew. A memorial service was held on Sunday, July 16, at Martha Lake Park, and arrangements are being made through Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local animal shelter. Marissa loved animals of all kinds and had hoped to foster puppies in her retirement.
