Mark Lee Windenburg was born in Cedar Rapids, IA on March 28th, 1956 to Keith and Georgia Windenburg. His parents raised Mark and his siblings in Marion, IA. He met his wife Cathy in IA in 1976, and they married in 1977. Mark was an active participant in his children's lives and loved helping with Boy Scouts and acting as a coach for many Little League baseball games. Mark loved hunting, and fishing, very much an outdoorsman, his wife, children, grandchildren, and his friends. He looked forward to his trips to Cabo every year, and to seeing his Cabo family. Being a social butterfly, his Cabo family may have been bigger than his biological family. Mark retired from being a Quality Engineer and he and Cathy moved away from the city to Port Hadlock in 2020. He wasn’t a person to sit and twiddle his thumbs and was always up to one project or another every day. There wasn’t a day that went by that Cathy asked, can you take a break please? Being busy, taking his dogs for daily walks was a day in his life.
On December 16th, Mark passed away at the age of 67. He is survived by his wife Cathy, son Kyle, daughters Kellie and Karrie, and grandchildren Aidan, Lily, Kylie, and Jaxson. He is preceded in death by his parents Keith & Georgia, and his brother Wayne. Mark will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving friend, father, and grandfather. The world will be a dimmer place without him, but he will live forever in our hearts.
