46 years old, Michelle was born on March 10, 1967 in Los Angeles, California to Ivory Jones and Joyce Jessamy Jones. She passed away suddenly on June 29, 2013 in Snohomish, Washington. She graduated from college with a PHD in law. Michelle is survived by her husband, David Bennett and her daughter. Her funeral services will be on Saturday, July 6th at 1:00 PM at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 409 Filbert Rd, Lynnwood, WA with a time of visitation starting at 9:00 AM.
Michelle grew up in Los Angeles near the Los Angeles airport. She met a number of people she stayed friends with her whole life in school, Yolande and Sara, who she has kept in contact with all these years. During the last year of school she did a year as an exchange student in Belgium, staying there for a year and learning flemish. After finishing school she went to Santa Cruz college where she got a degree in theater and lived through the big earthquake in Santa Cruz. From there she got a job working for Cops as a video editor and moved back to Los Angeles.
After finishing her job at Cops she moved up to Seattle and did some work as a video editor for some video companies in Seattle before starting on a law degree. During the time she was in Seattle she got involved with a group similar to the guardian angels, helping keep Captiol Hill safe, this is where she met a number of other good friends, Leslie, Mary, Garth and others. She completed her law degree and did some work with catholic community services working on real estate law. WHile doing her law degree she met David and married him a while afterwards, after we moved into a new house in Issaquah. Not long after graduating from law school, in fact during her bar exams, we adopted Rowen. Michelle has been a continual and loving presence in Rowen’s life, helping her succeed at school and organizing many and useful activities for her.
Michelle has travel overseas a number of times, spending three months with David’s parents in Perth, Australia, at one point, as well as some time in Queensland around the great barrier reef. We traveled to stockholm twice, enjoying the city, as well as Zurich and other parts of switzerland.
Riding a motorcycle was something MIchelle really enjoyed, she rode it all year round while doing her law degree, people had completely the wrong impression of Michelle as she got off her motorcycle in her full leather outfit.
Michelle has always been a kind and generous person, she likes to help people around her and make other peoples lives better. She was almost always happy and was a great person to be around. She will be missed for a long time by all her friends and her relativatives. She enjoyed sewing and halloween was her favourite time of year, she always made great costumes for herself, Rowen and David, for us to enjoy during halloween. She liked dolls houses and building furniture for them as well as robots and ideas around and behind these, she was an avid reader, especially after getting the kindle, reading almost all the time books from the kindle as she did things during the day.
She loved practical jokes, and had a great keen sense of humour, used to do all sorts of things along these lines with Garth and Joe.
She enjoyed watching Doctor Who, Court tv, various cooking shows (Hell’s kitchen recently) on TV as well as her all time favourite, I love Lucy, which she seemed to be able to find on a channel somewhere on the tv all the time.
