Monty D. Moore, aged 87, of Snohomish, Washington, passed away on April 24, 2024. He was born on August 16, 1936, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Monty proudly served in the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper after joining the Army. He later settled in Yakima, where he was introduced to the commercial roofing business and met his beloved wife, Phyllis. Together, they owned Pacific Rainier Roofing company in Seattle, which they ran until his retirement in 2020.
Monty will be remembered as a kind, fair, and generous man who touched the lives of many. He was a mentor to numerous individuals and earned the respect of all who knew him. He cherished spending time with his family and close friends, particularly at their vacation home on Lake Kachess, where he enjoyed snowmobiling and helping neighbors by plowing roads during the winters.
Monty is survived by his son Monty L. Moore, daughters Linda Brown and Sherry Peterson, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Rhea Moore, father Lawrence Moore, brothers Jerry, Dennis, and Larry (Dick) Moore, and sisters Rita and Myrna Moore.
Memorial services for Monty D. Moore will be held at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, located at 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA. A viewing will take place at 12-noon, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Monty's legacy of kindness and generosity will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Serving as pallbearers are Colton Moore, Mickey Brown, Jim Davis, Bruce Boettcher, Alan Day, Don Bosnick, Jerry Tronson and Jim Sanders.
