On August 1, 2012, after a year of valiantly battling melanoma, we lost our beloved Bob. The world that knew and loved him will never be the same. The love, laughter, inspiration and courage Bob has given us will live on in our memory of him.
Bob was born August 8, 1946 to Dick and Darlene Kelley in Spokane, WA. Bob graduated from Gonzaga Prep and continued his education at Stanford University, while excelling as a long distance runner. Bob had a long, successful career with Airborne Express as a Vice President of Sales and later with DHL as the companies merged. He had a profound impact in mentoring his sales staff and was trusted by peers and customers alike. After retiring he was able to spend winters in his home in Tucson and devote much more time to his passion, golf, interspersed with welcome visits of friends, children and grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Denise Taylor Kelley; his children, Nicole Kelley, Carrie Barnes, and Shane Kelley, his step-children Molly Cole, Todd Higley and Ryan Burleson, his siblings Gay Hart, Colleen O'Kelley and Michael Kelley. He is also survived by his mother, Darlene Kelley, and six grandchildren whom he adored.
Bob left a legacy of quiet dignity throughout his battle, a great personal strength, and a laugh that will not be forgotten. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
In lieu of flowers, Bob requested a donation to the Melanoma Research Foundation or the Evergreen Hospice Services
