
On June 17, 1951, Bob enlisted in the Navy at a US Naval Receiving Station in Seattle WA; he served in the US Navy from June of 1951 - November 28, 1955 during the Korean war.
Bob served on the Carrier USS Hancock CVA-19 where he took classes to learn about aircraft radio electronics. His rating at the time of discharge was "AT2."
After leaving the Navy, Bob attended the University of Washington and Seattle University, taking business courses. Still in his early twenties, Bob accepted an opportunity at a real estate firm in Seattle where he was trained to be a real estate agent. Bob was an agent at Picture Floor Plans and Pioneer Reality in Seattle. Bob went on to sell homes in the greater Seattle area and eventually became a successful broker of commercial property in King, Snohomish and Skagit counties. At one time Bob was was owner/broker of an office for Century 21 North Homes Realty.
Bob and his brother Chuck were avid snow skiers. While attending Madison Junior High school they entered ski races on Mount Rainier. In high school Chuck won first place and Bob won second place in a Seattle Times Ski School Slalom race. Bob continued to competitively ski while in the Navy.
Bob is preceded in death by his father Herald Peterson, mother Ernestine Cuff, brother Chuck Peterson, Sister Thelma Junglov and his daughter Cindy Hepper.
Bob is survived by his partner Theresa Fuerstenau, son Jason Peterson, four grandsons; Kevin Phelps, Kyle Hepper, Tyler Hepper, and Chase Hepper as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bob was a gregarious, generous person and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
