Sandra Leigh Menghini

Sandra (Sandy) Leigh Menghini passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025 at the age of 65, surrounded by family. Sandy was born to Max and Irma Lytle September 26, 1960 in Glendale, California. After moving to Bothell, Washington in her early teen years, Sandy attended and graduated from Cascade High School. After high school, she briefly left Washington State to live and work in Washington, D.C. She soon grew to miss home, family, friends, and her Aunt Nade’s famous baking.

Upon returning home, she met Rick, the man that would be by her side most of her life. After three years of dating, Sandy and Rick were married June 26, 1983 at St. Matthew Church in Seattle. They spent the next 10 years with their dear family and friends hiking, backpacking, boating and taking their dirt bikes up logging roads for off-the-beaten-path camping trips. They welcomed their first child, Chris, in September 1993 with Nicholas soon to follow in February 1996. Ever the selfless mother and partner, Sandy worked hard behind the scenes to create special moments and memories for her family, particularly over the holidays, that will be cherished forever. She carried this same love and care in all of her relationships with family and friends, making all feel welcome and loved. She always said that her favorite thing was quality time spent with those she loved. 

She spent much of her career, nearly 40 years, as an IT professional at Davis Wright Tremaine in Seattle after graduating from North Seattle College. When she wasn’t working, she prioritized time with family and friends, and followed her passion for photography and travel, often setting out to explore new national parks with her Aunt Chach. 

Sandy passed following a hard-fought battle with cancer. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family for the kind, thoughtful person she was. She is survived by her husband Rick and her two sons, Chris and Nicholas.
