Shaun Marie Hansen, age 56, peacefully passed surrounded by her family on January 14, 2025, after a long battle against cancer. She was born on January 29th, 1968, at Northwest Hospital in Seattle, Washington. She lived most of her life in Edmonds and Lynnwood. Her father Jim Hansen was a fisherman in Kodiak, Alaska. Shaun was in Alaska on and off between the ages of 10 and 15. She schooled all the boys on shooting before moving to Edmonds, WA in 1983. She attended and graduated from Edmonds High School (before it was Edmonds-Woodway) in 1986.
Since her youth, Shaun’s favorite escape was going to Chelan. That was her peace and something she cherished with her children. She was an avid golfer and would never miss the opportunity to see an 80’s cover band. She was stubborn and hard-headed, and never once let her battle with cancer define or control her life.
She had strength and courage that was unimaginable. Shaun had a love for music like no other. She didn’t care if she was the only one on the dance floor. She could have danced forever! She loved going on drives, blasting music with no destination, and would say, “We’re going crazy!
Shaun leaves many friends and family behind to cherish her memory. Shaun went above and beyond for family and friends, especially her children. She is survived by her three beloved children, Conner, Mykaela, and Alexis Marsh; her mother, Kathy Hansen; brother, James Hansen; and predeceased by her father Jim and, brother, Christopher.
Shaun’s passing leaves a big gap in everyone’s heart that loved her. Her spirit and tenacity for life are irreplaceable, and we hope we can learn to live as she did. Freely with love and unapologetically.
An angel who got her wings too soon.
