Tatiana Aleksandrovna Smirnova

Tatiana was born on January 2nd 1951 in Ulan-Ude, Russia. She was the daughter of Zinaida and Aleksander Snegirev, she also had an older sister, Lidia. Tatiana was raised in a small village, Mondi, near Ulan-Ude. She moved to a bigger city, Irkutsk, with her sister Lidia to attend High School No.9, while her sister started college. Tatiana met her high school sweetheart, Gennadii Smirnov, there. They got married one year after graduating college and had two children together, Elena and Igor. Tatiana was a chemical engineer by education and spent over 20 years working for the Environmental Protection Agency in Irkutsk. Tatiana was a devoted mother and a loyal friend, who had the kindest heart and the ability to comfort others in times of need. She always saw the best in people and stayed optimistic until her last breath.

Tatiana moved to Seattle in 2006 and became a U.S. citizen five years later. For the last ten years of her life, Tatiana was courageously fighting a battle with breast cancer. She passed away at home on Saturday, April 23rd, 2016, surrounded by her children and loved ones. Tatiana is survived by her daughter (Elena), son (Igor) and grandchildren (German and Julia). Services were held at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills.

Memories of Tatiana will continue to live in the hearts of those she touched during her life. Her children and grandchildren are eternally blessed to have had her unconditional endless love and dedication to them. She will never be forgotten and will always have our love!

The funeral services will be held on Monday, May 9th, at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills:

2:00 - 2:30 pm - Tatiana's visitation

2:30 pm - The graveside service

3:30 pm - Celebration of Life Memorial, followed by reception
