Wally was born and raised in Scarsdale, NY, with strong ties to family in the Portland area. After serving in the Army Air Force during World War II, Wally attended University of Colorado on the GI Bill.
Upon graduation he went to work for IBM. During his IBM sales travels he noted a system that created forms and letters without retyping. Wally embraced the concept and started an Autotytpist business in Seattle. As technology changed, he joined Paul Revere Life Insurance and retired in 1991.
An avid golfer and swimmer Wally and his wife, Alice, moved to Sun City West, AZ where they enjoyed an active social life. Wally was a natural born salesman and story teller who relished the opportunity to entertain friends in the retirement community. In 2017 he and Alice returned to the Seattle area to be closer to family.
Wally is survived by his wife - Alice, children – Zach, Byron, Greg, David (deceased), John, Julianne and Clarissa, 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held in the New Year.
