

At an early age, Annie received the Lord and joined Lizzieboro Baptist Church. She later joined New Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess and was a part of the kitchen staff.
Anne attended school in the Bibb County School System. She worked at Fort Hawkins School for many years, where she worked on the kitchen staff. Later in life she went back to work at Beloved Day Care until she retired.
Early in her life, Annie met and married the “Love of her life” Lesley Dortch. They were married for 54 “loving” years.
On Saturday, April 16, 2016, Annie went home to be with the Lord.
Annie had two sons that preceded her in death; Vernon Council and Gerald Scott Dortch.
She leaves to cherish her memories: A loving husband, Lesley Dortch; a brother-in-law, Phillip (Ruth) Dortch; a sister-in-law, Shirley (Robert) Reese; three sons, Clayborn Council, Alan Dortch, and Jeffrey Dortch; a daughter-in-law, Ms. Linda (Diane) White; a host of grandchildren, Vernon “Reco” Council, Ulethra Council, Taquisa Dortch, Calcin Council, Denzel Council, Treydarius Council, Kenneth Council, Shawn (Own) Williams, Tabatha Goodwin, Terrell (Arianne) White, Tian White Sr., Saterial Willis, Jamil (Maranda) Willis and JaQuan White. She also leaves a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
