Aretha Victoria “Vickie” Heard, 69, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 6, 2025. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Snow’s at Macon Memorial Park with burial at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery to follow. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Vickie was the daughter of the late Birddie and Herbert Rountree Jr. She lived in Macon all her life and was an active member of Avondale Baptist Church where she touched the lives of many with her kindness, gentle spirit, and love. She was known for her quick wit, always cracking a joke at the perfect time or delivering a sarcastic comment. Vickie was an avid crafter. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of nearly 48 years, Fred Heard; children, Robert Heard, Tim Heard, Carla Boone, and Pamela Heard; 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, James Rountree (Ann) and Lisa Flury (David); several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
