

Benny Crooms, 80, was called Home by his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial with Military Honors in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Joe W. Williams will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. They suggest that those who wish make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201.
Mr. Crooms, son of the late Willie Lee and Nora Lucinda Bell Crooms, was born in Irwinton and lived in the Middle Georgia Area his entire life. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean War. Mr. Crooms has been in the car business since 1970 and was also the owner and operator of Crooms Quality cars serving as President of the GIADA. He was a member of Parkway Assembly of God where he was also a member of the Class of JOY Sunday School Class. He also served as a Gideon. Mr. Crooms was an avid motor cycle rider and loved the car business and meeting people. Most of all, he loved his church family and being a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, loved spending time with his family playing softball and baseball with his sons and grandchildren.
Survivors include those he loved most, his wife, Frances L. Crooms; his sons, Raymond (Susan) Crooms and Richard (Julie) Crooms; his sister, Linda (Delacy) Clark; his beloved grandchildren, Joshua Crooms, Kelly Crooms, Taylor Crooms, Chris Crooms, Brandon Crooms and Sarah Crooms; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
